Wow, I could be a rapper.
When It Rains, It Pours
My 'interview' went well, for what it's worth. I think she's just thining out the field of possible candidates to submit to the account manager to further review and finally present to the client. Hey, it's farther than I've gotten before. This is when they do all the reference checking, background checking, etc.
So I got an email from another head hunter that I met last month at the IIBA meeting and she's got a position that just came in. I hope it's not the same one, but I'm calling her ASAP. Keep me in your prayers.
Food for the Hungry
I enjoy feeding the vultures that come in to my store to shop. I get a kick out of watching the people hover around just as I'm finishing up cooking something. Some will grab a plate and a fork, and shovel the food almost into their mouths and then 'What is it?'. I tell them it's Road Kill. Some walk buy with a sneer on their face while I describe what I've just cooked, then they reach for a plate. Some get scared when I mention something they've never tried before. Some can be pretty arrogant about what I'm cooking: 'I don't eat meat/pork/fish/etc'. Some want to tell me everything they've ever cooked and how it turned out. Some men will taste it, decide they want to cook it, then say 'Load me up' and I have to do their shopping for them. (Actually, the stuff is just behind me, so I just point). Lots of people will come in and say they've tried a previous recipe and just love it. I must admit, I look at recipes in a different light now. These recipes are easy and very good. The only one I really didn't like too much was the fried catfish, but I'm not a catfish lover and I don't do fried fish. I just wish they'd put more emphasis on healthy eating and lower the fat content, but when all you've got to cook with is an electric skillet, about the only thing you can do is fry foods.
Jewelry Making
I took some pieces over to a local bead shop to match some stones that I needed. The owner, a small little guy from Thailand was impressed with my designs. He said I have a good eye for color. Can you say inflated ego? So I bought more beads. I just wish this hobby could become self supporting.
Debate
Check out Tea and Crumpets for an interesting point/counter point about Bill O'Reilly's book 'Culture Warrior' and his self-defined 'Social Progressives' that evil group wanting to Change Society.
More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'
