Hump Day

Well, the week is almost over. Don't you think it's a shame to live for the weekends? There's got to be a better way..

A Plea to Dekalb Voters
Next time Cynthia McKinney is up for re-election, PLEASE get out and vote against her. When Denise Majette ran against her and there was a large voter turnout, she lost. When Denise decided to run for Senate and McKinney was up for re-election, I did not get out and vote. But I will next time. She's a joke. A local news show was conduction a 'poll' about who's fault this non-issue is (the cop, Ms. McKinney or too close to call) When I saw the numbers, 92% thought McKinney was at fault. It would be a good bet that 92% of this stations watchers weren't white. I hope the black community wakes up and boots her butt out.

Birthday Celebrations
I helped a friend celebrate her birthday on the hill at Piedmont Park. I haven't done that in a long time, spent time in Piedmont Park. I'm jealous again of all the folks who live intown. It would be so wonderful to be able to walk to the Park or the store or the Marta station to take you anywhere. But then, I can keep furniture on my front porch without worrying about it being stolen. And I'm really not that far from a Marta station. So I just have to find more reasons to hang out at Piedmont Park. Hint, Hint.

Preparing for the Battle
I was on the phone with my boss late yesterday, discussing with him a small issue that I had discovered. Seems theres a report that the warehouse manager runs to check on the drivers arrival and departure times and it wasn't working. I discovered it wasn't working because the new drivers added didn't have an employee number added to the system. I know to put that number in there, but evidently someone else who adds users knows this. So I wanted to make the User Maintenance program force them to enter an employee number. I mentioned this to my boss and he went ballistic. I mean this man was yelling at me. He didn't want that as the only employee numbers we use in this system are for the drivers and no one else. He also said that the numbers aren't assigned until the drivers start work and it wouldn't be convenient for him to have to wait. Can you say 'Let GO?' I'm here, on site 5 days a week. I know how to add an employee to the system.

I just finished a program for the owner to track CSR's errors in entering orders. The program that existed didn't go to the correct files and the process was changed anyway. So I rewrote the program, in MY style, using commands and functions that I've never seen used in the current system. He was going to look at it last night. I'll bet anything he will find problems with how things are done.

More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'

Seems like it is time to update the resume.

I said that on Monday. Didn't do taxes or resume on Monday, I joined a dating service. Guess my priorities are in the right spot...
