TGIF

Tonite I'm off the the American Shakespeare Tavern to see 'Merchant of Venice'. I really enjoy going to the Tavern. It's a very small, intimate theater, just like you'd expect the original Globe Theater to have been, except with hard floors and bathrooms. It's like a Renaissance Dinner theater, they have a full menu available before the performance, with wine and a pretty good beer selection. After some visits, you get to know the performers and that adds a bit more to the whole experience. The comedies they perform are hysterical! They push the envelop with the interpretations. Shakespeare was rather bawdy in his comedies, and the company at the Tavern really know how to work it! Great times, and I'm looking forward to tonite.

Plastic Surgery
I watched a TV show last night about botched cosmetic surgery. I can't imagine hating yourself so much you have to have your face/body fixed. This society has placed way too much emphasis on beauty, and the poor suckers were trying to live up to 'expectations'. I would never be acused of being beautiful, but I can't think of anything I would want fixed. Of course, the older I get, the more things need fixed, but I really don't have a problem with growing old gracefully. These women had nose jobs, breast jobs, collegen injections, and they were all beautiful to begin with. I felt sorry for them. They had to find out the hard way that it isn't all about looks, it's about what's inside.

Illegal Immigrants and Medicare
This whole issue of illegal immigrants bothers me. They know the rules, but they choose not to follow them and the US government doesn't do anything about it. So they come here, paying no taxes, and use medical assistance that is paid for by ME and other tax payers. This is not right. Immigrants have done a lot for the US, but they came here to BECOME Americans and they came legally. You can't tell me that these folks crossing the borders are coming here for the 'freedom' and to help the US. Money is the universal language. As long as they get paid more and aren't hassled about citizenship, they can send money home and all is well.

More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'
