It's a shame to live your live looking forward to the weekend. I need to redefine what makes me happy and then act upon it. Whatever that means.
Motivation
When I was on 'vacation', I was looking for something to motivate me. When I lived in Florida, there was an AM radio station that played all motivational speakers. 1-, 2-, 3- minute exerpts from nationally known motivational speakers on all sorts of topics, sales, self-esteem, organizational politics, that sort of thing. I really enjoyed it, it gets you thinking and it gets you motivated (duh!). Since I can't find a radio station that fills that nitch here in the Atl, I turned to an old favorite, Joyce Meyer. She's a televangelist, but she speaks to me. She's based out of the midwest and runs 3 day events in many cities. These events consist of workshops, dinners, and services for the weekend. I've never attended one, but I think I would like to. She's not In-Your-Face about religion, but God is one of her motivators and she will give Him Praise. I can relate to a lot of her stories and she's a good speaker. I can't find her on TV anymore, but I need a dose of Joyce in the am before work.
Please don't pay any attention to Pat Robertson!
Why does the press even give him the time of day??? The man is out of his mind. He's got a right to his opinion, but we don't need to pay any attention to him. He's crossed the line from annoying to outrageous. I know he doesn't speak for all Christians or all Republicans, but he's been identified with both of these organizations and he's giving them a Bad Name.
King Family vs. World
In just the few sound bites I've heard, the King family is now accusing the Federal Government of trying to squash the legacy of MLK, Jr. Didn't the King family contact the government about buying the King Center? (And wouldn't it be better if they 'donated' it??) Cynthia Tucker wrote a very interesting article about the legacy of the King Family. They have done a good job of squashing the King legacy themselves. It's not about non-violent protest, it's about lining the pockets of the kids. They should be ashamed.
More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'
