At least the weather is warm.

Another Monday. Yea. I had a great weekend up at Lake Hartwell. I went up Saturday afternoon, we enjoyed lots of appetizers, had a lovely dinner, a spirited game of UNO and a great breakfast Sunday AM. On the way home we stopped at the Outlet Mall in Commerce and I didn't spend too much money... One thing I enjoy about going away is coming home. My new kitty suffers from separation anxiety, so she's so happy to see me when I get home! I guess they all missed me, I had kitties glued to me all night.

Ralph Reed and Business decisions
I've been following the Ralph Reed story in the AJC. Some would say the AJC is a 'liberal rag' and they spend way too much time on Ralph Reed's problems. Ralph Reed is running for Lt Governor of Ga. There was a letter yesterday that said all that I've been thinking about this issue. Ralph Reed was a consultant hired by Jack Abramoff to lobby for an anti-gambling law to be passed. Unfortunately for Ralph, the people that had hired Abramoff's company to do the lobbying was an Native American Tribe, wanting to squash competition. The problem isn't really that Ralph is a devout anti-gambling Christian, it's that the money he earned was in essence 'dirty' money. (Do you detect a bit of hipocrasy here??) IMHO, if he was too stupid to know where the money he was paid came from, he's too stupid to be Lt Governor, even of Georgia.

Sitting on the fence
I was told by a friend of mine this weekend, that she gets frustrated with my blog as I don't really take a stand, I sort of sit on the fence. So I'm going to make an effort to state my case. I'm not really a flaming liberal, I'm more of a centrist, leaning to the left.

Jack Bauer and his Messes
I watched '24' last night. I can really become addicted to that series, I've watched it for 2 years. One problem I have with the series is how they portray children. So far, there's been Jack's daughter and last night we were introduced to Jack's landlords' son. These kids are stupid. This kid last night followed Jack when he left home. Doesn't this kid have school or something? One of the first scenes was all about breakfast where we met Jack's landlord and her kid. The kid accused Jack of lying and couldn't/wouldn't have a conversation with Jack. Mom should have knocked some sense into that kid, taught him some manners. He's a teenager, and I know that is an issue in and of itself, but he was rude to his elders and Mom should have disciplined him. So now he's caught up in a National Security issue. Last season (or the season before) his daugher was working at CTU and decided she HAD to discuss her relationship with another CTU worker. In the middle of another National Security issue, while they were looking for the atomic bomb set to go off over LA, she had to tell her Dad she was seeing this guy. Someone's priorities are not right. This is probably the last season, they've killed off all the good characters already.

Rolling Stones
I had an offer to go see the Stones, all for a paltry $114. I'm not sure I'd pay $114 to see anybody, much less a bunch of druggy grandads. I've never been a big Stones fan anyway, although when I was a kid I liked the song 'Lets Spend the Night Together'. I had NO idea what is was about, but I liked the melody and the beat. Their earlier stuff was pretty good, raw, hard rock'n'roll. I also like the early Faces, before Rod became a solo hit. But, I digress. Every year, Keith Richards is voted 'Most Likely to Die', but he's fooled us all. Has anyone really seen him smoke lately? I think he's actually cleaned up his act, he's just keeping the Bad Boy image. Somehow, I don't think that Bad Boy image will be as cutting edge when he's in his 70's. 'Pass the metamucil Margarita, please. Laced with some ant-acid.'

More to come...
As things happen, I'll be posting. Thanks for taking the time to read. You're opinions are welcome but if you have to start calling me names, don't bother, I won't read them. As my Dad says 'Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one.'
